Healthy Communities Day
Healthy Communities Day at Evergreen State Fair to celebrate healthy fun for all .
Health information, no-cost resources, and interactive booths will be featured on August 26 at the Fair.
This will be our 116th fair and our diverse communities are at the heart of why we host this event. We are partnering again with The Snohomish County Health Department to offer a day at the fair that offers resources for healthy living. The Healthy Communities Day highlights the Snohomish County Health Departments’ dedication to promoting healthy habits, addressing health inequities, reducing the spread of communicable diseases, and protecting our food, water and environment from health threats.
"We're thrilled to partner with the Evergreen State Fair for 'Healthy Communities Day,' an event that highlights local organizations that provide valuable health and wellness services in our community,” said Dr. James Lewis, Health Officer for Snohomish County Health Department. “This collaboration allows us to reach residents with important resources, encouraging healthy living in a fun and accessible way. Together, we're creating a stronger, healthier Snohomish County, and I’m excited to see the positive impact this day will have on our community."
Everyone benefits from healthy communities, and we hope this day builds upon the daily work we are doing to support our communities, while having a lot of fun. We hope you join us!
Healthy Communities Day activities are included with general gate admission to the fair. August 26 also is the annual Morning of Dreams, offering a quieter, calmer fair environment from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. for people with sensory or other needs who may be overwhelmed by too many crowds, lights, and noises. The gates open to the general public at 10:30 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.
"The Evergreen State Fair has always been an important part of the Snohomish County community, and we are very excited to now be a hub to connect communities to health resources and organizations,” said Mike Ohlsen, Fair Manager. “We are grateful for these partnerships and that we can expand how we serve the community through Health Communities Day here at the fair.”
Special Admission Pricing for August 26 • Kid's Day, $7 admission for kids ages 6-12 years old.
